Either mine is missing the manual oiler,or it's broken off.I know the primer button is partially broken,but it still works.I tried to trace where a rod should be for the manual oiler & didn't find one.

I picked up another Eager Beaver 2.0 last week & the spark plug boot was missing.I really wanted to see if the saw would run,so I got a little innovative today.I call this "Operation Paperclip".Lol

Here's a pic of my 380A,it doesn't have the manual oiler button,only a rubber plug where it should be.There's no oil push rod in the airbox either.

NorthEast Tennessee Saturday MAC Report
Brian was attending to family so I cut this morning alone. Another joined me in the afternoon. Other than one Cherry everything today was dead or dying Ash. I don't have much experience with Ash but found the dead ones to be brittle and the live ones to be pretty strong. The ground was in an area of numerous rock outcroppings and springs. When the trees hit the ground the noise was tremendous and would reverberate. We concluded that it must be the rocks and/or an underground cavern. Anyway the PM800 ran flawlessly as I felled 17 to 20 from 18" to 2'. Worked one side of the creek this morning and felled and bucked 7 or 8 in 2 1/2 hours. Worked the other side of the creek this afternoon and felled 10 or so in 2 hours. Felt like a carpenter this morning with a tape measure bucking in 9' 6" lengths as instructed. Left the bucking to others in the afternoon. Forearms are sore from pounding wedges. Highlight of the day was trying to convince the other afternoon faller that within limits you can make a tree go where you want it to fall. He had two fairly large Ash trees that he thought could only be felled across the lay. I couldn't convince him to try to put the first one in the lay - ultimately he reluctantly agreed to let me try. Though the tree fell where intended it still took some convincing to get him to try on the second tree. With some coaching he did and the tree fell as intended. I think he learned something today and I expect him to do well. He is much more precise in his cuts than me, but less experienced (polite way of saying I am an old geezer, twenty years his senior).

Nice work Ron! Does anyone here know how to extract the manual oiler plunger from the oil tank on an Eager Beaver 100 series?(I know that was a silly question).Does it unscrew,or is there a clip on the inside of the tank that's impossible to get at?

Ed - McCulloch recommended fishing it out with the oiler rod from one of the large frame front tank saws. You can make your own tool from a piece of #9 wire with a bit of a dog leg in the end to match the angle of the manual pump.

I don't understand how that's going to get the push rod up & out of the tank.Tim (Fossil) said you did a write up on this a while back.IO tried searchoing for it,but couldn't find anything.

Ed - I am pretty sure the write up just dealt with the automatic pump and how to make sure it is working properly. Without having one in front of me I don't remember how to get the push rod to come out but I seem to recall they have a type of catch that secures them in the tank that must be depressed to get it out. The tool I mentioned is used to fish the pump body in or out of the tank.
This week's projects were all 300 Series saws. I am working with one of the Engineers at work to come up with a 3D printable replacement for the cover over the carburetor since all of the original parts seems to crumble at the slightest touch. We are about 80% of the way there now. The later models like the Mac Cat and PM365 have a different arrangement and that part seems to hold up very well.
I still need a choke shutter for the PM365, PN213411 if anyone has one.

Did you try Bob Johnson for the choke shutter?I've got a 310 here,but I'd like to work on that soon too.I'm waiting for a reply back from a guy on Ebay,he has the whole oil/gas tank oiler assembly for $20.I just need to know if the oiler works.
If I can get that one & it works,then I can fiddle with the one that came off the saw & I don't care if it breaks.
I noticed on the E.B.2.0 that there's a spot for an automatic oil pump in the engine casting.Is there supposed to be something in that casting spot for the oiler?I can get pics on here if you need them.

The choke shutter is different on the later 300 models with the modified air box/cover so the one from the 310/320/330/340 won't work. I have a growing list of parts to discuss with Bob in the coming week.
This is from a Silver Eagle 2014 which should be just like your Eager Beaver 2.0, this one came to me "locked up" due to the one screw coming out of the oil pump and jamming behind the flywheel.

That one you just showed here is the E.B.2014 which is a 2.0 AV.I finished that saw last weekend.I'm now on an E.B.2.0 100 series.I know this is confusing,it was when I talked with Bob yesterday too.Lol I have three different E.B.Here's a link to the tank assembly with the oiler I'm talking about.

Nice Ron for an "old geezer" you certainly put in a good days work. What caused the ash trees to die? Its really nice you do all this with an old mac for our viewing pleasure haha
Not sure, but I believe it is the Emerald Ash Borer. Apparently, a hitchhiker on pallets from China. Ron
Yeah,we got the same problem here with the ash trees.My son & I were out cutting a little over a yr.ago on a dead ash.It'd been dead for a while & when it was felled the bark just fell off,& under the bark was this bright emerald green insect that was dead.I finally saw what the damn thing looked like.I've got it in a small jar - I can take a pic & post it if anyone wants to see what it looks like.

Has anyone heard about this before?It's a McBob thing,I don't know if McBob did this or not,but they're taking the electronic ignition modules off Ryobi"Whipper Snippers" & mounting them on Mac saws to take the place of points & condensers.I think they just bolt right up & very little,if any adjustments are needed.
