I would stay 18" or less .325 for sure. The bar amd chain combo from Baileys is a good set up.

Nice looking 51. We run 18" .325 on ours, simply because I have a Husky 55 and Echo CS-510 set up the same way, and I have several extra bars and chains for them. It does fine with it, but would NOT be happy with 3/8", IMHO. It would be best suited to 16" .325 if you want it to really shine in hardwood for limbing, etc.....Cliff

The saw came with an 18" .325 and a rim sproket that looks new. The chain has broken teeth and the bar has some chips in it. I'm probaly going to go with 16 .325. Its gonna be a tough choice in my 50cc class. I have the 51 and a Dolmar 540. That wears a 16" or 18" .325. Hmmmmm

How does everyone like the 51 compared to other 50cc class chainsaws? I think mine with a 16" .325 makes a fine limbing saw and will buck smaller stuff very well.

I don't use our 51 as much as our 55. I'm not sure if the 51 is an open or closed port P/C? It seems to love high rpm's, and seems to run nearly as well as the 55 for limbing and small material. It certainly runs as well as any other 50cc saw I've had the opportunity to work with, and they are very well made units.....Cliff

I just got done putting a new P&C in one of these for somebody. I would suggest a 16" 325 for a bar and chain combo.
