This saw had a full rebuild from crank bearings up. I put a new oem 346 ne top end on it and removed the carb heater and took tube out of cat muffler. Heated handlebars work great. Asking 450 for powerhead

I removed the carb heater due to it being unnecessary imo. I still have the plate and carb heater. I'd rather have a cooler carb imo.

The plate with the hole in it is the heater, the other piece that bolts to the top of the carb is a thermostat. It only turns on the carb heater in super cold conditions, and only until the carb body warms up. Otherwise, turning on the heater switch only runs the heater handles in mildly cold weather.

The heater switch closes a circuit that allows the handles to heat up. That always happens. But when the temp drops enough that the carb might ice, the thermostat would allow current to flow through the carb heater to warm it up. That was the point I was trying to make. The OP said he took out the carb heater to keep the carb cooler. I was just pointing out that the carb wouldn’t be getting warmer just because it has a heater, since it only kicks on in very cold weather.
