So I just picked up a truck load of Ash, I know they say you can burn it right away. But is there a chance there may be a period of too soon? I am splitting the thicker stuff but alot is 3 to 4 in dia. I three a few pieces in seems to burn good. Just like to here some thoughts. Thx

been cutting a lot of dead ash the last month. I will be happy if it burns good next year
i burned more last season than i planned for. It sure is nice wood to cut and split.

Dead ash can be use right after you cut.
Peoples say is the only tree what can be use right after you splited.
I never did that, but I do check it after 2 months and the humidity was 11% so I use it and was great.

Like others said, standing dead ash is my "get out of jail free card" if I run low late in winter. If live, it takes seasoning (maybe less) but needs time like anything else.
