    Carburetor question Roper 3.7

Also have a pair of 20" intenz bars(one new one slightly used) for it. Will try to get picks of the air housing and guard but the air housing looks nearly like the plastic one.

    Carburetor question Roper 3.7

I have a couple assembled pics for now. The tank is newly added, did not open the crankcase.

    Carburetor question Roper 3.7

Any takers? I would let the box of Roper and parts related to it go for $25 and shipping(the custom made chain and air covers are worth that much)

    Carburetor question Roper 3.7

Alas, my beasty died today. It was running along and the rod bearing went out at speed. Not sure if I will rebuild it eventually but I picked up a Poulan 50cc new for $180 to get through the rest of the season. So far it seems pretty similar in power/feel but with good emissions and a brake...

    Carburetor question Roper 3.7

Thanks, Hot. I saw the Sears direct listing only showing the entire carb, NLA on all the kit options.

    Carburetor question Roper 3.7

Tested fuel cap for noise, still produced symptoms with cap off. Fuel lines and filter are new and clean. Turned out when I opened it up that there was a gap in the air filter along one edge and some grit got sucked in, additionally the filter was dirtied up. Still getting used to how much this...

    Carburetor question Roper 3.7

I need to know what carb kit to get for my 917351090 Roper 3.7. It runs great/slightly lean for a couple minutes and then starve dies for a minute. Fuel filter is clean and lines are new. Never redid the carb itself so who knows how old the diaphragms are. Did not change with adjustments. It...

Craftsman (roper built) 3.7 clutch removal

I did that enough that the face was denting. Perhaps if someone had it off in the last 15 yrs(or more) it might have been possible. At least it came off with the welder trick. Too bad they don't put wrench flats on them in the first place.

Craftsman (roper built) 3.7 clutch removal

I had it hot enough that the kroil was vaporizing for several minutes and an overnight soaking. Still wouldnt budge with a big hammer and punch.

Craftsman (roper built) 3.7 clutch removal

I had one of these saturday that would not go for anything. Tried 3 different chainsaw shops and they couldn't budge it. Wouldn't even respond to torching with mapp gas and kroil. Ended up tacking a nut to the outside and it popped right off with the impact wrench. Easy grinds and it's working...

Roper 3.7 tear down and rebuild

http://www.ebay.com/itm/152081692159?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I have one of these on mine. Trim two of the sides to fit the hole and it works fine. I need to get pics up of the metal air filter cover I made recently. Same shape but made out of car fender metal...

    termites in live trees

I just found it odd that they were so rooted into a producing fruit tree.

    termites in live trees

I just lost a pear tree last year to termites. It had fruit on it and made several good bushels per year. When they demolished it structurally the stump was clean to the ground and the tree was tunneled 4 ft up. only perk was no stump to take out. They have also eliminated a stump nearby but now...

Roper 3.7 tear down and rebuild

If I am understanding it correctly, the manual plunger simply adds pressure to the tank to influence more flow? If that is the case, does it do detriment to have the hole open?

Roper 3.7 tear down and rebuild

The flow control and auto-actuator are as they should be. The question is should there be something in the apparently blind cavity where the thumb pump would be.

Roper 3.7 tear down and rebuild

I got it off craigslist for $20 last week because "it needed fuel lines". I put a new chain on it(super 20) and found the leak was the bottom of the crank/tank case. A little tank epoxy and leak is gone. To help prevent it getting damage again I added a sheet of rubber on the bottom face. Later...

Roper 3.7 tear down and rebuild

I was mistaken on the model although the base chassis sure looks the same. in fact it is a 353710 if that helps. Is there a cross-ref for finding an air filter too?

Roper 3.7 tear down and rebuild

It does seem to oil some but not a major flow. Priming/purging takes a while at full power. I was tempted to put a rubber plug on it just to see if it makes a difference.

Roper 3.7 tear down and rebuild

I have one of these and it kicks butt! The question I have is that where the manual oiler is shown as there is an empty hole. It has the automatic oiler system but is the manual plunger necessary to operate? The hole doesn't seem to have any threads for the plunger to mount to and it is the...
