    The Beg for Manuals Thread

In need of ipl and repair manuals for many stihl models. 024, 026, 250, 260, 261, 029, 039, 034, 036, 360, 044, 046, 440, 460, 500i, 066, 660, and 880. Need the 046 manual currently, but would like to get then all and saved at once, so that I have my fleet covered

    Stihl 029 Super

I figured I should do the lines as well.... definitely a lot easier to do the small stuff now, than have to rebuild because of bad small parts. Can any of you tell me anything about the pop up pistons? I get that they increase compression, but do I have to do anything to the timing or anything...

    Stihl 029 Super

I figured the seals, since they take no time to do. Can you post a link for the piston you're talking about? And where would you recommend getting the seals?

    Stihl 029 Super

I've torn a 029 Super down, and knew it was scored pretty bad. But once I had it apart, I noticed that the scoring looks more like it suffered a heat seizure. It was scored clear across the exhaust side, one side, and 2 different spots on the intake side. I just want to know if I should look at...

    Stihl 066 rebuild

I got a scrap pile saw, and decided it'd be a good project for me. I have the cylinder off the crank case. I was hoping for the best, but the piston is done for. It actually kind of looks like someone tore it apart, put fresh rings on it, and honed the cylinder. I started to clean the exhaust...

    Stihl 039 rebuild

I guess I'll have to try the acid treatment. I never knew how to do it. I'll see about getting some muriatic acid

    Stihl 039 rebuild

I agree. It is a messed up series of saws. I moved parts from an 036 to an 034 to make 1 good saw, and it was much easier to understand what was going on. I'm going to put a 49mm kit on the 039 because there is noticable difference in power between it and the 46mm

    Stihl 039 rebuild

I've been in HVAC for 9 months, and started school in August. We mainly do commercial and industrial. I've been tinkering with Stihl products for the past few months to try to help pay for school. I won't mess around with the other brands because Stihl is all I've ever known. I started doing...

    Stihl 039 rebuild

The cylinder is gouged. And I've been looking at the different kits. I like to think that I'm rather mechanically inclined, so it shouldn't be too hard for me to do everything. @Mustang71 I'm going to school for HVAC, and I'm crazy about my saws, so I may have to pick your brain from time to time

    Stihl 039 rebuild

I have it all apart. It scored the jug and piston on the exhaust side. I'm not going to try to salvage the cylinder. It's too far gone

    Stihl 039 rebuild

I picked up an 039 for next to nothing, but it is trashed. I'm looking to rebuild and I was wondering if I should just replace the top end, or order an entire engine that is ready to install. The Piston is scored, and the rings are stuck. The jug is scored as well. I'm just wondering if I can...

    The Beg for Manuals Thread

I'm looking for service manuals and ipl's for 021,028,034,036,039,064, and ms170. New here and tired of paying to have them worked on.
