Anybody have an interest in a cutting, running xl 800? I have some videos of it running on youtube, it has a 20 inch bar and I can probably part with it for $150 with you paying the freight. If anybody is interested I'll get some more pictures and a compression number and post it on here for you.
Ok, so I got me a homelite super ez auto I have been messing with. It starts up pretty good cold. Cuts good, doesn't die on the idle, cuts fine. If you shut her down and turn her right back on, she'll start on the first yank. But if you let it sit maybe 5 min and try to start it back, it has to...
Mike Acres site says 16:1. I assume that was with old SAE 40 oil. Generally I get some 40:1 pre-mix I run in other saws and haven't had any issue. Do I need to mix some special thicker stuff for this one since its a bit older vintage? This one is one of the first ones off the line in I think...
Hey folks, I need some expertise here. I'll try to give as brief an explanation as possible.
My original dabbling into old saws lead me to buy 3 old homelite xl automatics, condition unknown. Upon initial inspection, all three had good compression, and two of the three had good spark...
Just picked up a Homelite xl -800. Its a runner, I brought it home put gas in it and fired it right up. However, I poured oil in the tank and goosed it up and no oil comes out the weep hole. This was one of the earlier 800's that has an auto oiler only. Its not even drilled for the manual pump...
Need a couple chainsaw bars. Don't care about brand, and would like to have them with a sprocket nose if possible. Need one at least 16" for a super xl auto and need another one at least 20" (would prefer bigger but I can live with that) for a xl-925 mount type. I may also need a 16" to fit a...
Thought one of you might have one of those old blue prestolite coils off a parts saw on the cheap. Message me if you do and don't want and arm and a leg...
I have an old homelite xl auto I'd like to get a new bar for and have good things about the archers. Which bar and chain combo can I buy from them that will fit. I would prefer an 18" but a 20" or 16" will do. Would like a sprocket nose as well.
I am about to start a project on an old saw that my dad and uncle chucked back in the barn 20 plus years ago. As a starting point, I think I need to address a couple issues. One, what should the compression be on the saw. Two, the reason the saw got parked, was the head bolts were vibrating...
I have found a pm 605, that runs and the guy wants a hundred bucks for it. Has a 20 inch bar. Too much or a good deal. Its new enough that it has a chain brake.. Let me know what you think fellas.
