    Hardy Question

Anyone have any ideas? Is it possible it’s just condensation or are you thinking there’s a small leak somewhere?

    Hardy Question

Here are some more pictures. I didn’t see any water actively coming out of the lines, but there’s definitely something.

    Hardy Question

I had a local lady text me that she is getting some water on the corner of her Hardy. She sent me the attached photo. She said that it started last winter, then over the summer, it wasn’t wet, but when she turns on the circulation pump, it gets wet again. Any idea what could be causing this? It...

    Hardy H4 issues

Never mind.. it was a floater issue. The water level had dropped causing my auto fill not to work. Problem solved.

    Hardy H4 issues

Hello everyone. I’ve had my Hardy H4 for almost 4 years now, so I feel like I have a pretty decent idea of how it runs, but this morning I woke up with cold air blowing out my vents. Usually this means the fire went out overnight or my taco pump wire came loose (mine does that sometimes) so I...

Time to shut down the boiler.

Things are winding down in SE Ohio also...Still some cold nights, so I'll keep it going for at least a few more weeks, but the quad is definitely not doing my yard any favors when I transport the wood to my burner. It's really muddy out there.

Hardy H4 OWB not bringing hot air through vents

I shot a text to my Hardy dealer and explained my issue bc my house was cold again this afternoon. He said he had an extra pump I could use, but asked me to check my water level first. I opened it up and, wouldn’t you know it, my water level was down! The floater had gotten stuck up which...

Hardy H4 OWB not bringing hot air through vents

Update: I think my pump might be dying. I went back out to the Hardy and it’s running, but making a noise I’ve never heard. I think it might be on its last leg. It seems to be working now and the house is warming back up, but I’m gonna replace it.

Hardy H4 OWB not bringing hot air through vents

Hi everyone. I’ve had my Hardy H4 OWB for about 4 years now. Once I got it up and running, I’ve never had any issues. This morning I woke up to a chilly house. Went out to the Hardy.. Fire was burning well, the pump was running and it felt hot like hot water was moving through it.. the lines...

Why Do You Use A Conveyor?

I would love a conveyor because my OWB is uphill from where I stack/cut my wood. I can't get a truck up to my burner so I have to carry a lot of it. Even a 4 wheeler with a wagon on the back is tough bc there's a sharp turn. A conveyor would save me a ton of work.

    OWB Early Fall Question

Thanks everyone! And, correct, my OWB isn't full...Just 4-5 splits, but it's just to warm during the day to keep it going.

    OWB Early Fall Question

Hi everyone. I've been a member here for a couple years now. I have a Hardy H4 OWB. This is my 3rd season using it and it works great, but I have ran into a problem that I don't recall having the last two years. We have been experiencing some cooler nights and fairly warm days. So warm, that my...

    Hardy H4 Shaker Grates

Ahh...No, I guess mine are different. I have the 6 grate system. Sorry. https://store.outsideheating.com/grateshardy6gratesystem.aspx

    Hardy H4 Shaker Grates

Mine were super easy to change out. Honestly, you can do it while it's still running as long as you have something to grab it with. One thing I do now is make sure I flip mine at least once a year to prevent them from breaking frequently.

    Heatpump vs OWB

Last winter when my OWB was down, my electric bills were $500+ This winter, I didn't have one above $150.

    This is it

I shut mine down early last week. I would have liked another week of wood, but I was out and I didn't feel like going and getting more. Heat pump only ran a few times, so it wasn't too big of a deal.

Hardy H4: DHW is only warm!

I believe it's sidearm? It's all one system. I have 4 lines (2 intake and 2 outtake, I believe) running from my Hardy to the house. One runs to my hot water tank and I have valves turned off to bypass that. I'm gonna be honest, I'm not 100% how it all works. I just now how to get it started when...

Hardy H4: DHW is only warm!

Hello. I'm having trouble with my domestic hot water for my Hardy H4. It's been great all year, but the last two days the water has just been mildly warm. Any idea what could cause that? The heat of my house is just fine and the heat in my tank is the correct temperature. Thanks in advance.

    What a difference...

Last year at this time we were experiencing sub zero temps. I was new to the OWB game and apparently wasn't running it properly. Our furnace was never turning off and our electric bills were $400+. This year we are experiencing sub zero temps. I've learned how to properly use my OWB, it kicks on...
