Does anybody know of any current bar and chain manufacturers that make bars that will mount on an SP125 or 797 without modification?

I had a decent parts 10-10 louvered muffler laying around and had swapped that one in and the broken reed one out. Sounds great and runs real strong!! Kind of a pain to get the muffler off and on but I got her done..

Hey guys, I got a PM555 that I just freshened up with a carb kit, electronic ignition and new plug. Starts first pull cold! I have a question about the muffler though. It appears the little reed inside the muffler may be broken? Watch the video for explanation. I’m guessing it’s not supposed to...

Well, people... after the Electronic Ignition conversion on the SP125, she is running how she should!! So happy with it. I recognized the issue. It was not bar/chain oil leaking into the cylinder.. Apparently, after attempting to gap the points properly (twice) - I had them too advanced. I had...

Got it. I’ll give it a try guys! I was wanting to do it but some guy told me not to because they did it and it didn’t run very good. That must’ve been the issue. Thanks all

Has anyone had any luck converting SP125s to Electronic Ignition?

I guess I’m not really sure how to describe the liquid. It’s thick, very oily and pitch black. Also smells more like oil than gasoline so maybe it’s mostly oil lol.

Hello everyone. I got two things I want to share. I got the Super Pro 125C just about sorted out. Flywheel eventually came off and I was able to go back in and re-gap the points. They were almost near perfect when I had last set them. Once everything got slapped back together, it ran. But the...

@heimannm I tried the flat washer/puller trick for the flywheel and apparently I need a lot heavier duty washer as this didn’t hold haha. This thing is really on there.

2nd option is just torquing the flywheel down to spec and converting to electronic with a chip

Scratch my last post. With some tedious use of a tap & die, I fixed the threads on the flywheel nut and the crankshaft! Goes on good now. Now that I got the ball rolling, any recommendations on a flywheel puller for an SP125?

Anyone know if a 7/16-20 Stainless Steel Flange Nut from McMaster-Carr would be a suitable replacement for a flywheel nut on a SP125? https://www.mcmaster.com/nuts/18-8-stainless-steel-flange-nuts-8/

If the 2nd Carb you put on presents the same results, the problem may be the coil. I had a similar issue with a 10-10S I put together. Spark was actually blue and looked strong when I tested it, but it kept flooding and would not run. I swapped out the coil with a NOS one I found on eBay and the...

    Tree Identification

Came across a bunch of these small trees the other day. The area is somewhat sandy as far as the land goes. There were a few mixed in with Pine/Oak/Cherry/Spruce. When cut or a twig was broken, the wood gave off a very pleasant, almost citrusy scent. These trees were very young still I believe.

I really hate to say it but a SP125. They don’t look terribly bad and I probably didn’t have the nut far enough down on the crankshaft. I had just gotten the PTO crank seal to go in properly too.

Is there any easy way to re-thread the threads on a crankshaft? I was attempting to remove a flywheel by tapping on the nut method (which has never ever failed me in the past) and it messed up some of the threads.. now the nut won’t screw all the way on...
