If the handlebar frame is genuine to the saw, you have points ignition. Ring sets (and also piston kits) are available AM or NOS.

You don`t have to hold the trottle open at all, as it will pull in air by exhaust port. You do have to pull several times to get a correct read, though. 140-160 psi would be OK.

They are comparatively heavy and can work loose easily as a turning pin can turn them in the grove. IMO tailed wire circlips are also useless as the pin can wear on the tails till they break off. Only thing to use are tailless wire circlips. I cut the tails off tailed ones, if I don`t have any...

Sure you can improve it by lowering the jug and widening the transfers. When lowered, the exhaust port can be slightly widened as it is narrow as is. Ideally all port time/areas should be calculated and matched to desired BMEP before any porting, but improvements can be made if you go in the...

I use Stihl RMH in .063, but Oregon and others make it too for now. Harvester bar mounts; Stihl 3080 and 3070, Oregon FL104 , FL114 and FM104 can very easily be adapted to Stihl 3002 and also to 3003 with a little more work.

BTW .404 isn`t really .404 either, it`s .4055 :msp_biggrin:
