    064 Help

Compression was 150 #. Problem turned out to be the crank had about 1/8" endplay. :taped: Haven't a clue why but the crank could actually slide side to side through the ID of the bearings. I split the cases by hand and pulled the crank right out. To say I'm pissed would be an...

    064 Help

I had a 32" White Oak that needed worked up this am and it doesn't have the power it had. Not really bogging just kind of noses over like a four cylinder car on a big hill. it wears a 28" bar so it's not like I'm overdoing it. The 064 hit the bench after two cuts and got to watch the 036 git...

I'll be doing any further testing and/or repairs on this saw till I'm dead. It'll be a day or two till I can get my vacuum tester but I have planned on checking that, just forgot to mention it. Thanks!

    064 Help

Hey guys! I was very active here a few years back but life doesn't allow much leisure time any more. Looks like a lot of "faces" have changed but I'll bet there is still a saw guru or two floating around that can help me. About four years ago I bought a worn out 064. I put bearings and...

Oklahoma,AR,MO,KS,TX GTG (Next GTG 08/27/2016 ) Fort Scott, KS

Crap! I haven't been a "regular" here in a while. When I was here everyday you could count the Missouri members with one hand. Guess the has changed a bit. Where is all this going down? 1,300 pages is a bit much to wade through. :hmm3grin2orange:

Maybe it's time to reconsider diesel?

I have never felt the need to feel a cowboy. I do enjoy my diesel Powered pickup that weighs 7,000# and gets 22 mpg. Wrap a towel on my head and call me an Eco terrorist, hippy.

Maybe it's time to reconsider diesel?

A diesel chainsaw? Are you a full blown water head? Five years ago it was rediculous so why wouldn't be now................... ;)

    Start of New HeMan Wood-Splitter

You've got a great start happening. You'll need to add a sharp point to that wedge or you'll wind up flexxing the main beam. Don't ask how I know.

    Saw shop requirements

Sorry Fish, I guess I got your thread derailed. Around here you must maintain at least 24" of hair on some part of your body and eminate noxious odors. The fewer the teeth the better, same thing for fingers and appendages. All the training that you will need is, remember "Righty tighty lefty...

When my log splitter piston gets very hot....

It all has to do with surface area of the piston in the ram. A 25 ton splitter runs at the same pressure as a 30 ton (generally speaking) but the larger diameter of the piston allows for more splitting pressure with the same hyd system pressure. The formula for figureing tonnage is...

    066 runs - then stops

The language differences had me going for a second. I was thinking you were PO'ed and took a cutting torch to your impulse hose. :hmm3grin2orange: Glad it all worked out fer ya.

    Stihl Rivets

Absolutely! I found out about wonderful Stihl design when I tried to find a clutch side bearing for my 064. Not gonna happen with that double thick race!
