    log splitter wanted

My MTD was fine I still have an MTD splitter. It split over 30 cords last winter. I have had it 3 years. It still works great but I upgraded to a commercial unit for speed. Wish you were closer as I would take $700 for it.

    Fastest/most productive splitter

Speed of Huskee Shipper50 My definition of cycle time would be the elapsed time from start of the split cycle to the return of the cylinder. I would expect the Huskee to have a cycle time of about 25 seconds with that motor. The commercial splitters have a cycle time of about 6-7...

    Local firewood prices

Wood Prices I have started this fall at $50 for a face cord 16-18" length of mixed seasoned wood. 100% pecan I have been selling for $60. Any green wood I let go for $45. That is picked up at the lot. Delivery and dump is $15 more if in town and not too far away. Stacking is extra...

    New splitter

Starting in Winter I had the same problem a couple of mornings last year with trying to start the splitter motor when it was cold. After about the second morning I figured out that I could set the splitter where the truck exhaust was coming out the tailpipe and the exhaust would warm the motor...

    Splitter

Splitter Question I have 2 22 ton splitters. One has a 6 hp motor, one has a 13 hp motor. If the piece of wood to be split is square on each end I have not found any wood that either splitter won't split. In my area the diameter of the log doesn't have anything to do with how hard it is to...

How long does it take to split a cord?

splitting a cord We can split and stack a 16" face cord in about an hour with our 22 ton MTD 6 hp machine. It doesn't make much difference if there are one or two persons. This would equate to about 3 hrs per cord. The splitter cycle time is too slow to go faster. The type of wood also may...

    log splitter lift

You may need separate valves The lift and framework look great. Depending on the selector valve you use it may be hard to move when loaded. My AC tractor has a selector valve and with any load on it the valve locks in position due to the hydraulic forces. Let us know how it works.

Has anyone heard of iron&Oak splitters?

I just bought one 2 weeks ago I bought the 4003 model with a 13.5 hp robin engine and log lifter. I consider it to be extremely fast. I used a horiz/vert model previously and it had a 17 second cycle time unloaded. The iron oak model does 7 seconds loaded, it also splits 4 ways and cycles...
