    Stihl 066 older model

Just picked up a 066 without a decompression button and it has the metal flywheel starting to hear some negative views on the saw regarding a weak crank . Should I be worried or be looking for a 066 with the polly flywheel ? just want a reliable saw and don’t need a new 661 . This saw has good...

    MS661C crankshaft rough to turn

I've got a 661 I'm working on. P&C got destroyed, and I may have found the reason why. I took the P&C off, and the crankshaft is rough to turn by hand and nearly impossible with the starter. It's good for about 2/3 of the rotation but 1/3 is rough and hard hard to turn through. Flywheel isn't...

Rancher 55 crank seals and bearings - do I need special tools?

I'm about to do my first top end rebuild. I want to replace the crank bearings and seals too, just to be safe. Will I need any special tools for this? What is the trick for getting them off, and getting the case split?
