572 breathing

For those of you who have a 572xp, could you pop the air filter cover and tell me how this thing breaths? I've been looking at this thing and to me it looks like the air filter is in a sort of sealed chamber and not connected to the area of the starter impeller. I can't find the route of the intake air.

The air is forced through a passage in the case that is fed by the flywheel fan. Husqvarna calls it air injection, it helps to keep the large particles of dust from getting to the air filter.

Yes, it comes through from the flywheel into the carb area. You'll see the opening in the bottom left front corner of the carb area.

The air filtration using centripetal force with the flywheel is genius. Keeps so much debris from ever reaching the filter.
