Hey guys, I'm looking for a full wrap handle for my 2065 but cant find one. I figured a full wrap from a 2165 or a Husky 365, 371, 372 would fit but apparently they are different, (part # HVP 503 62 86 71).

Does anyone know where I can get one or even a part number for my 2065? And/or has anyone ever modded there 2065 to make a full wrap from a husky 365, 371, 372 fit? Thanks!

I found out today that a full wrap from a 2172 is supposed to bolt right up to a 2065. I don't know anyone that has one for me to try:(... Can anyone confirm this?:msp_confused:

2171 full wrap will fit. 2172 should fit. the x-torq models have higher top cover, so brake handle and handle are raised higher.

I've got a couple if you need one.

Been struggling with this for a while. Ordered a full wrap for a 2165 yesterday, might try to shoot out some pics of why this does/doesn't work. The Baileys site say that the handle won't fit a 2065, but will go on a 2171, and Young on an earlier thread says a handle from a 2171 will go on, so I might have to eat the to/from shipping costs, but I figured I'm going to go ahead and try it out for myself and see what happens. Got a new set of dogs for a 2165, will see if I can make some magic happen.

I see no reason a wrap handle from a 2165/66, 2171, 2172 shouldn't fit a 2065. @mdavlee @westcoaster90

The Husqvarna handles are angled differently and the mounting location on the tank is a different shape (Jred is angled, Husqvarna is straight), with the holes in a different location (the Jred is longer and mounts lower down, so the Husqvarna handle would not reach all the way down to the second mounting hole). It might "work" but it won't be right.

I have heard people say that the wrap handles are different between the 2171 and the newer x-torq 2172/2166, but I've swapped the same handle between a 2171 and a 2172 without a problem.

Here's my 2171 and 2165...

Great, thanks cgraham! In a different thread I remember someone saying the gas tank configuration is different between the 2065 and the 2165 and that the clearance of the full wrap is the deal breaker. Its a little complicated, but I'm hoping that once I get the handle in a can "show" the world what the heck is going on that we can put this one to bed for a while. Do you think the dogs for the 2165 will go on my 2065 as well? Sure hope so, cause they're showing up in the same box!!
Either way, appreciate the visuals, thanks much!

And now I'm looking at replacement gas tanks and the Jonsered 2071 2063 2065 2165 2171 Gas Tank and Handle Assembly is all part # 503 7204. Huh, this WILL be a learning experience!

Hey All,
So here's the latest update on full-wrap handles.
In a nutshell, did it work: yes!
Was it fully "correct": no!
I'll let the pictures do the talking. Also took the chance to install some new Pro Safety Felling dogs Bailey's Online part number PS S372 385. Full wrap was Baileys HVP 503 62 86 71.

The saw in its original condition (yea yea the chain was a bit loose)

How the full handle bolts on to two but not ALL 3 screw ports (this is where it "doesn't" work)
IMG_2809[1].JPG

On the underside the half wrap only attached to 2 screw ports, but 3 were available, which the full wrap bolted onto perfectly!!

The Safety Dogs went on without problem

The Finished Product, which I'm pretty happy with, now just need to get out and try it out!

So there you go. Hopefully this finally puts the discussion to bed (for now). When I get out next week to test it out, I'll try to report back on how having it currently configured performs "in the field".

And finally, heres the fully re-habbed product complete with a new throttle/gas tank assembly (had to dig around online to find it, kind of a disappearing piece). The throttle cord connecting to the carb was a bit long, had to get creative with some solder and a couple bits from the saw shop, but it runs VERY happy now. Feeling ready for the woods!!
