Log grapple vs. Material handler grapple

I am looking to add a grapple truck to our reaidential tree company this year. I was looking at the typical storm chaser set up but I somone I spoke to suggested a material handler style boom. Pros seem to be a lot more reach, possibly enough to add a saw head for medium trees and price is cheaper. Con is it is definitely slower.

I'd be very interested in hearing anyone's experience.
