Bought my 6401 here from a fellow member with a known bar oil leak. Was fairly slow leak but has gotten worse.
I had to order a clutch for it and it was to be delivered today. I was out this morning cutting and splitting wood before the rain moved in. Rain ran me out of the woods so figured I’d go ahead and pull clutch so I could put new one on when the mail ran.
Saw had been sitting on my bench a few days. Walked in to remove clutch and bar oil everywhere.
I said ok that’s enough I gotta find and fix this leak. Pulled clutch and cleaned all the grime out and noticed my leak immediately. The grommet seal on the pick up line leaking. Ordered a new one. Pulled pump and old pick up line out. That grommet seal almost hard as a rock.
$30 well spent to stop that annoying leak.
can’t wait to get it changed so I can go let her eat some wood.
