Red oak or pin oak?

not a pro so don't make fun but I'm trying to confirm this is a red oak. Inside looks and smells like a red oak but the top of the tree has many branches and the bark is tight like a pin oak.

Please also confirm that pin oak is not good for slabbing or just about anything else.

Both are types of Red Oaks.
Those leaves on the ground look like Red oak.
Acorns are a bit different too.

Red oak is thicker through the corridor of the leaf.
