Red oak or pin oak?

not a pro so don't make fun but I'm trying to confirm this is a red oak. Inside looks and smells like a red oak but the top of the tree has many branches and the bark is tight like a pin oak.

Please also confirm that pin oak is not good for slabbing or just about anything else.
