behind my saw
I purchased my first bandsaw mill early winter 2017 and love it. Woodland Mills HM 126. Cuts Eastern white pine like a champ, cuts red oak not so champ like. The saw head shimmies back and forth really bad as the blade is cutting the oak. (18") diameter. What blade is everyone using on low HP mills like mine when cutting oak? My engine is a 9.5HP Kohler.

Cheers, Jim

Thanks Franny, I will look into that. I was thinking about the 4 degree blades but didn't know if my little Kohler would be up to the task. Maybe I will order one and give it a try.

All mills shake "some", but some a LOT more than others...

It's a LOT more about how stiff the "head" was designed/built, than about what band is being used.
