Got a few trees with this fungus on them. What is it, can it be treated?

Could just be a simple nuisance fungus or a slime mold. But it could also possibly be a sapwood root. See if bark and tissues below pull off easily.

Take a few more closer pics and gently excavate mulch and soil from the adjacent area.
 
Generally fungi starts growing from inside the wood. Nothing you can do. Is tree healthy still? Might be fine for a while. If declining, may be time to cut down.
 
I'll keep an eye on it. Trees look healthy. The tree in the picture is a bradford pear, I have a live oak with the same fungi but higher up on the trunk.
