I have both saws so I feel a little qualified to answer - Since the 260 won't easily handle what you typically cut, I would trade in the 260 and give $200 for a new 361. Other than the 361 being slightly heavy when performing trim functions, a 20" bar on the 361 is wonderful. Usually, I only switch from the 361 to the 026Pro to extend cutting time between fuel ups.

361 won't do that either, think 660 or 880.

Now if you deal with more 12"ish stuff then a 361 is a nicer size than 260.

I would think more of adding a biger saw to the little saw than going to a single smaller mid sized saw. I know it's money, but having the right sized saw for the job can be a time and back saver.

I was thinking of a 16in on the 361 and I do have a spare 20 in.bar just dont use it much

He's giving you about $350 trade value for your 260. We sell them new for about $450.00. Pretty fair deal if you ask me.

The 361 will run circles around your 260, once it gets broken in and you open the muffler a bit :)

Looking at your avitar I get the picture.

A 361 will give you a few extra inches over the 260. Really asking a lot of a 260 to pull more than 16 inches of bar with real chain. 361 seems nice with 18 "and I would think would be just fine with 20, though I just never tried that set up come to think about it..

ok Igot a "ms 460 mag" "i need a power house 16in. bar saw set up" the 460 can handle the big stuff! looking to kick some @ss with a 16 in bar set up once i get the trunk my 460 will handle it! so would you go with a ported 260 16in. bar set up or 361 stock 16 in bar set up? (260 is stock right now)

LOL, no question a ported 361:greenchainsaw:

Even a ported 260 built for torque just lacks the jam to really push through those big limbs. If you get a 260 ported hot enough to be decent at it, heat would start to be an issue.

Most of my customers are running the 361 with 20" bars and full comp chain. It's become the primary bucket chunking saw for them. I have put 25" bars with semi skip and gotten very good feed back, RSLFK chain.

Ran my 1st 361 this summer and really liked it. It had a 20" 3/8" on it and ate some wood real good. The 260 Pro we have has an 18" .325 on it and also does good. I like the 361 better than the 390 even though the 390 has a little more power.

You are missing the 3 saw plan!!! Just add the 361, not trade the 260. I have been running Husky's lately. 372 and 350 which are comparable to the 460 and 260, however I miss my 359. My 361 has been filling that gap. In reallity, 2 saws are adequate. Use the 70cc to fell and buck the large stuff and the 350 to limb. Works good for 2 to 3 cords wood in 2 hours. Maybe you should just stick with what ya got. The larger the saw the more weight and the quicker ya get tired. I always grab the lightest to get the job done. What chain are ya runnin on the 260? That could be key to it's performance when you are doing the small stuff.
