Hi all,
I have a 33B (serial number 1220B if you are interested) and I have messed up the needle seat adjustment to the point where I can not get it tuned. I have been given two scans of the operator’s manual for the saw which details tuning the carb (thanks Arboristsite!). It states that if you cannot get the saw running properly adjusting the needle seat in a one turn range that the saw should be taken to a dealership to verify the initial setting is correct. In my own foolishness I have adjusted the seat outside that one turn range (I didn’t have the manual in front of me and was just going off poor memory) and I can’t seem to get it close to right now.

Can you tell me what the initial setting for the needle seat should be? I guess there are no official service manuals for the 33 series of saws but I’m hoping someone familiar with the Mac “flat carb” will know a good starting point for the adjustment.

I am very anxious to get the saw running well. I have gotten it running, albeit very poorly, trying to tune it and it still ran strong. With a 4:1 reduction in the gearbox it seems slow but unstallable!

Thanks!

Perfect! Thanks so much. This is just what I needed and will hopefully help others in the future who need to tune their Mac diaphragm carb.

Yeah...many thanks for the info. I'll keep this for my winter projects on my 35's. These carb's test my skills and always a learning curve but once you master them...life is good!!....Thanks Stink:clap:
