Hi all.My first post here.I tried searching but didn't find anything dealing with my same problem so I thought I would throw this out there to the experts.
The pic is of a Jap Maple in my back yard ,right around 17 to 19 yrs old.It just started pealing bark (TOP OF TREE ONLY) about 2 yrs ago but not as severe as it appears in the picture today.Some smaller branches have died but other than that it seems to be growing ok.
Can anyone help as to what is going on here?I have not noticed any insects around.I really hate to loose this tree.I can post more pictures if need be,these didn't come out to well,raining today ;
