McCulloch Chain Saws

I have a big plastic 55cc McCulloch that I can't get parts for. I can't believe that a saw that's only around 5 years old or less has to be scrapped out because of 1 item, an oil pump gear.

More than a few of them, also branded Craftsman, have been set aside because of that. "McCulloch" is a mere myth now, not a manufacturer. Same with "Homelite". Try as they might, they seem unable to give "Poulan" the last bullet. I blame Husqvarna, though the saws you speak of are not made by them, at least not directly.

The Italian Macs are not that bad of saw, but they are not the easiest to work on, or find parts for.

Sadly, even other old line names are being drawn into the throw away after use foray, including Remington.

Actually, the saw was made by MTD. I called the factory, no parts for the saw there either. Maybe I could make a masonry saw out of it or maybe a pump...

55cc could be fun bolted to a bicycle, it's got a clutch, weld a bike sprocket to it.

What is the proper mount for a PM1000? Acres lists it as D005 but, Baileys lists it as D009. Did the D005 supersede the D009? Any modifications need to be made to run a D009 bar?

Yes, they are also the ones who are making Ryobi and Troy built, which are eerily similar to Poulan, which leads one to believe the big H has their mitts in there somewhere.

Hard to tell where anything is actually made anymore.

D009 should bolt directly on. No mods needed, IIRC. Never heard of a D005.

That is one clean saw! Whats the deal with the green oil button? How common is that on a 10 series saw? I changed the top of my 2-10 for the tank/air box/handle top that has the green button. (not sure what that part is specifically called) Im curious if its off a 10-10, not that it really matters.
