I just ran a 2890 a few weeks ago and was pretty impressed with the machine. Ran a 2900 on tracks a few years back, would not recommend that machine for anything but land clearing or similar type sites.

Ya it was a demo unit with a 100 hours never sold to anyone so it still came with a full factory warranty. Super fast machine my longest grind time is still under 10min so far. 99hp kabota engine with a fancy wheel that i cant even remember what its called on it.
72grand is only the new all hydro units i dont mind adjusting a poly chains so i figured id save around 20 g's

Ill try and make a video of it tomorrow the reason it was worth it to me was we have to many employees that don't have anything to do when the grinder is taking an hour to get a stump out now its usually less than a 15 minute brake on a monster stump. Thing saves me right around a 100$ in labor over a smaller unit on an average stump with 4-5 guys. Which comes out to over a grand a month in stumps we do i save in labor.

2890 is a kick azz machine. My friend just picked one up wheeled for 50k and change. It is unreal. Blows through massive oak stumps like they were made of paper, and the grinds are like sawdust. Most of the time it takes more time to trailer on and off then it does the stump, no joke.

ya my longest grind time so far i think is 8 minutes you can take a seriouse bite. there is one on the tree trader tracked machine for 44k with only 13 hours. the faster you go with it the worse the mess it will pull 10-12 inch pieces off but if you bite that hard it will throw them like 50 yards.

Thanks Matt and a video would be great...I'm serious about purchaseing a 2900 but would like to have as much info from owners as possable, also how is the maint? and what engine do you have?..there is a 114 hp option available now

99 hp you can't tell the difference with the larger motor. I didn't believe it at first but they are the same speed.

Maintenance is just like ll other stumper grease and oil keep them alive. You can expect 500 hours out of cutter bearings a little longer out of the rest. Easy to take tracks on and off

One of these came up for sale near me a few months ago and nobody was interested. In winter in aus people are short on cash too, so the price kept going down and down... I thought long and hard about it. I swore to myself the next grinder I buy is going to be something big, at least 80hp. It was the tracked version and had the remote etc.... Seemed a bit big to get into most back yards though. While I was ummmmming and ahhhhhing about it, someone bought it for about $25k from memory. At that price it was a steal! Still wonder about whether I should have bought it, they never come up for sale here, not a common machine. I guess I'm holding out for an RG90 or maybe an SC85.

Shot a bunch of footage of this beast today going to try and get on the imac and make some sort of highlight real of it. Biggest stump so far was around 60 inches and it took right around 15 minutes.

I haven't found the limits of it only had it for a couple days. At this point I'm sure it would be much faster in Some one who has a 100 hours with its hands.
AS of aug 2014 the 115 2900t with revo wheel and blade ,curtins,and remote,....list for about 84000.00
Got them down in 70's for new one.
dealer 4hrs. away demoed a 97 perkins 2900t,30hrs on it...revo wheel,.... blade...,remote...... curtins,....trx's.....listed 76000,....come down to 66000,and just wanted me to make offer but I didn't want the 97hp one, say they use more fuel than 115?.....cheapest place I have found is Modern equipment in pa....All these were full hydro units ,no belts or bearings.97hp ground really good,...but did make pump bypass and squell a few times with normal cuts,....not sure if it is worth the prices,..nice machines though.
