poulan counter vibe,,,8500 to be exact, carb from a 4200 will work too.

i have a 4200 carb but i bet i pulled it off for the same reason you did. just so you know guy. a WJ39 off a 394 bolts right onto those poulans. just swap choke shaft and for the throttle shaft you pop that plastic hook up for the cable off and there is a hole underneith in the perfect spot to hook up the throttle linkage. gives you full travel from idle to full bore. impulse hole also lines up like it was meant to be. i did this to a 4200 i got here. it runs good but i haven't put it in wood yet. it's kill'n me but i'll be breaking a chain for it today so hopefully later on or tomorrow.

Do ya have a spare, I have one but all that is good on it is the covers and maybe the needles, severe throttle shaft wear and ate up the carb body, off to the bay again.

i forgot to mention that because the idle adjustment is on the carb of the WJ39 you have to remove the factory idle screw in the case of the poulan and drill the hole to straighten it out. i also had to make a tuning guide for tuning screwdriver out of an old 394 one. just modified it with a dremel. it only takes 25 minutes from start to finish. i can't tell you it runs better then with the original carb cause i haven't tried it yet but i imagine it will. i modified a 3120 choke lever for it but the poulan one will work as long as you use the poulan choke shaft.

Thanks for the inside scoop if I have to go that route, made an offer on the 168 Fish has listed on epay
