Present clutch has some ridges on the outer ridge. My see if there is a way to chuck it in a lathe and true it up. Or, just knock off the high spot for more contact area.

I've got a parts 360 out in the shop that may have a clutch on it. I'll check later and if you can use it, it's yours.

Edit: The clutch is there if you want it.

I got a running C51 homelite its got a 24" hard nose windsor bar with 404 chain....I think , its bigger than 3/8 chain,
it does have a rim sprocket, can you get a 3/8 rim for it so I can run 3/8? can yon still get .404 chain
if I cant get a 3/8 rim? :)

It would be a shame to put pizzy little 3/8 on him.

.404 pitch is what I ended up using on the two C-5's I had. 19" bars.

.404 is what I put on the XP-1000 with 25" bar. It came with 7/16". Changed the spur to a rim drive/drum.
I guess I can find some .404 I got to count the drivers

Hi Guys
I had a 330 given to me. PO said it had a bad EI. I put a new rubber carb manifold, chain and got it running and thought there is nothing wrong with this saw??? Wrong....after 3-4 minutes of hard cutting the saw died like you pullled the plug.
I put a NOS ebay phelon EI. $40
Success....:chainsaw:
I cut about 2 pickup loads of red oak.... flawless except for dulling the chain in some dirt. My buddy using a husky 55 was duly impressed with the 330 also

Since I've worked in electronics and electromagnetic s for 40+ years I was curious to see what's making that module tick... Taken a few annotated pix. limitations of my cheap camera are obvious but my eyes can easily see whats going on here...fix would be very difficult but swapping other EI on to another core lamination may be not to difficult.

1. There is a typical high voltage coil with insulation paper layers between the coil layers.
2. A coarser coil below that, in the blue coil form, is I believe a charge coil that produces the power to be trapped by a diode into the large charge capacitor (400v dc?).
3. Then at the mid point of flywheel (magnet) passing the coil... the zero crossing of the voltage pulse (single sine wave the transistor is triggered to dump the power from the cap through the coil primary....SPARK generated.
4. Simple CDI ignition

Bad (thermally sensitive until it finally dies) transistor or charge diode and the process goes down the toilet.

what would a c51 act like with an 8 pin rim and 3/8 chain.... probably wont do it but wondered
for saw races what it would do? still gonnna put another .404 chain on the saw, I likes big chips :)

ok heres the numbers... bar is a windsor 24m-085B
the other side says D28
the chain says "windsor" on the side links and 58B or 588 on each drive link (78 drive links)
my dial calipers say .o55 on the bottom of the drivers but .064+ up high between the links
what is ths thing???????
