Regardless of bar length, I'd say Sugihara and be done with it.
Personally I am not a big fan of long bars, even more on saws sunning a .325", so I would opt for something considerably shorter such as a 14" bar.

I didn't think I'd like .325 chain on my 5100s but turns out I do.
Wish I'd bought a better bar but hindsight's 20-20.
Wonder how the sugi compares weight wise to the pro lite?

I'm using .325 more on ported 346s' and liking it.
Sugi is probably heavier. I have 16" & 18" Sugi bars and they aren't any lighter.
Planning on trying one of the new Oregon light bars in 20" NK soon. Speed cut I think they are called.

Sugihara are somewhat like Cannon: they are built to last and perform in difficult conditions hence weight comes after durability.
If weight is a major concern for you, perhaps you should give Tsumura a look. I know they make some 20" bars in .325" but I don't remember what mounts are available in that format.

Are you referring to the standard sugihara bar? Because their lite bar with polymer injections is considerably lighter than a standard bar.

I'll have to weight them, but an 18" Lite Sugihara feels heavier than a 18" Oregon ProLite. Damn good bars though.
The reason I was wanting to know is my saw came with a 64 DL ProLite that has been a good bar and balances well.
The 18" .325 bar is the same length as the OEM 3/8ths but, as you know, has more grunt with the smaller rim.

Yeah, I see. I've pretty much stopped running 16" bars on 50cc saws. I just like the extra reach of 18" (72 DL) better & .325 works well in this length. The bars I'm using the most are old new stock Sanvick/Windsor Speed Tips 18" 72DL.

I didn't feel like taking the 18" bars off saws, so I weighed 16" bars.
Didn't have a 16" ProLite, but the Husky should be very close.

Sugihara 16" .325 .058 gauge; 1.52 lb

Husky laminated 16" .325 .058 gauge; 1.46 lb

That's close. I guessed the solid bar would be heavier, even with the cut outs.

That just makes it lighter. You can run regular .325 on it.
The cheap bar I bought is a narrow kerf (MicroLite) Oregon and is showing a lot of wear just where the rails meet the sprocket.
I'm not complaining because it was on sale and cheap, plus my thinking was it would be lighter. This is the 2nd lpx chain the bar's had on it and it won't last for a 3rd.

Not good. I don't know how the speed cuts are going to hold up, but I bet they're better than that.
