What’s everyone using these days for quality vacuum and pressure testing on their saw builds?

It’s been years since I’ve dabbled in saw rebuild & repair but setting up the old hobby shop as I’ve got a couple projects on the way and need to get my tooling up to par..

MityVac a decent way to go or would another be recommended? Not afraid to spend the extra cash on quality if there are better options out there..

Edit: My apologies if I’ve posted in the wrong forum as I just noticed the Handheld tools forum

Thanks in advance!

Cheapest way to go with reliability is to get a harbor freight compound guage, and use an automotive vacuum hose tee to make a three way hookup. Then use a purge primer to develop vacuum or pressure. Works great.
You can make 20lbs either vacuum or pressure with ease. ;)

I use a mityvac pump, pressure/vacuum fuel pump gauge becasue it is much larger diameter and easier to read/see minor changes.
Blockoffs made case by case from inner tube rubber, gorilla tape, or 3/8 alum plate. And assorted hoses, barb fittings, etc.

I have some aluminum pieces that I cut and drill to make the plates with inner tube backing held on by rubber cement. I don't have a pump other than a blood pressure bulb and gauge. The bulb works very well for pressurizing the engine..I "inherited" a few chainsaw tools last weekend including several clutch removal adapters..

Hmmm...air pressure at sea level is 14.7 psi ... not sure how you can make more vacuum than that. Maybe the gauge is off?
Probably meant 20 psi pressure and 20 inches Hg vacuum. Although I like to make my own tools, I broke down and bought the 8500. Never regretted it - the ease of operation is terrific.

Yeah baby!!!!

Hey, it worked for Austin Powers. When I lived in Colorado, I had a urologist friend who told me that he got one for his dad who had ED. He said he was visiting a few days later and his dad quietly thanked him. When he was on his way out and out of sight of his dad, his stepmom threw her arms around him and said "Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you!"
