Im guilty of that one. When I was growing up everyone called them powersaws, I still hear it sometimes. It's not a pet peeve, just an observation.

When my dad was growing up, they used cross cut saws, it was in his generation when gas powered chainsaws came about, so to them there were indeed powersaws.Im guilty of that one.
When I see someone pulling the starter rope as fast as they can a jillion times and it won't start. - I do this when my attitude goes down hill with a saw...guess I feel like I’m punishing it lol
When someone pulls the saw back and forth in the cut while cutting. - I’ll admit i do this in a big cut that takes longer sometimes. Thinks it’s my ADHD kicking in and it’s just to pass the few seconds lol.
When people think Stihl safety chain is so much slower than non safety. The only difference is the raised bumper next to the raker and it doesn’t even get in the way.
I decided to not loan saws anymore either, I go with them now, so onlyI never had to learn that lesson as i will never loan out a saw[emoji2373]. I will however help out with my saws[emoji16].

annoying issue now is my father just can’t understand why anyone needs
to adjust a carb when the saw is starting and able to cut, even if he was there and the piston
melted, he would argue it was running perfect, you must have done something to it.
And this crack just makes adjusting the carb a torture because of his comments.
Another good reason not to loan them. And everything think you’re “silly” for not loaning them out and gets butthurt. Hell most the saws I(probably many of us on here) have that are good runners will get you killed if you don’t know what you are doing and truly respect them
That's what I was thinking. That's what the bumper link does, it helps prevent the teeth from biting when around a radius.Guess you have never tried to plunge cut with safety chain.
My philosophy is anyone that needs to borrow a saw doesn't know how to use one. If they did, they would have their own.Another good reason not to loan them.
Got another one,
“Hay, you know you put your bar on upside down?”

That was going to be mine. When you tell them WHY it’s upside down they look at you like you’re lying.Got another one,

Don't loan your chainsaw.lending a saw that comes back sounding different, that is so annoying,
I had a friend ask me a month or so ago, since I collect saws, "Can you find me a good 50+cc Stihl saw like my Farm Boss? I need a new saw to run a bar-mounted debarker." I sent him a 361 I had lying around and a week later I got this email "I received the chainsaw today and put a 25" bar and chain on it, works great." Another week or two passes and during a phone conversation I ask him how the saw's working out. "Well, I haven't actually put the planer head on it yet because I'm having too much fun cutting with it." Another bit of Farm Boss fun I've encountered is one that wandered into the shop where I work that was run with the chain brake on. Here's where one of the broken clutch retainer clips ended up: Sorry for the crummy phone pic.Yes the farm boss is the mightiest saw of all the land... That gets pretty annoying pretty quick
What are your pet peeve‘s.
Right, It doesn’t plunge cut well. If done properly it can be. But realistically how many people (cutting firewood) actually plunge cut and how many times in a day do they actually do it.
I’d bet most that complain have never and never will make a plunge cut.
