Well great minds think alike hahahDid you put the bearing in yourself? Did you put it in with the oil pump installed to use as a bearing stop?
I was just thinking the same thing. Beat me to it.The oul pump sleeve goes over the crankshaft and sits in the seal.
I have only built a handful of these, but that's exactly how I have done it. Install the sleeve after. Here is a question.
If you are replacing the PTO/clutch seal can you do it without the sleeve installed, then sneak the sleeve in without messing up the seal?
Again, I've not wrenched these yet.
Perfect picture.Any help to you?

Always forget about that o ring!

So did some versions have the o-ring and others not? I am thinking that it was eliminated at some point. My later 044 didn't have the o-ring (or I didn't notice that it was missing when I rebuilt the saw.Perfect picture.
