I knew where you were coming from but the point still stands, as Husqvarna uses Zama carbs from China just like Stihl dose. I always thought this was weird anyway since Zama is now owned by Stihl (from what I understand) and still sells carbs to all there competitors.
Like has been pointed out, presently it will be just about impossible to buy things that are built in China but I understand and applaud your stance. I have more or less done the same thing already. Its not just chainsaws stuff either as its everything, car parts, gun parts, mower parts the list goes on.
Personally I wouldn't by any Chinese chainsaw parts anyway because far as I'm concerned they are mostly junk, at least most internal parts but your point about a clutch cover is valid, its just a piece of magnesium that even if not perfect is at least mostly serviceable.
The other point I want to make is, remember how god awful high Husqvarna pistons and cylinders were? If it were not for the Chinese imports they would still be that same price or higher. They were forced by lack of sales to reduce those prices because of the competition. So its a double edged sword sometimes.
In all my years I have not owned one foreign automobile. Never have probably never will, I dont care if they are built in the US, the profits don't all stay in the US and the foreign company profits from it.
When you buy a Stihl chainsaw you are supporting a German company, buy a Husqvarna your supporting a Swedish company, but we really don't have a 100% owned chainsaw manufacture anymore to choose from. Thats one reason I say if your going to buy a POS consumer saw, at least buy the US built Poulan instead of one of the POS Chinese built POS.
