If development had been put into 2 strokes along with 4 strokes(and the rules didn't unfairly favour 4 strokes), things would be different in motocross. The superiority of the two stroke dirt bike is evident by the fact that they still even exist.

Wound up pulling the trigger. Bought out of the toy budget, not the tool budget. Again, just for the novelty, not expecting it to be any kind of serious tool.

Saw arrived. Rather than taking a bazillion pics, I turned on the video camera and went over the saw. As soon as it's done uploading to YT I'll post the link. Fair warning, I am not a YouTuber.
Already had a surprise, it has an engine oil sump, and separate bar oil and gas tanks. Uses regular bar oil.
Ran it for a bit, it badly needs some tuning. The average homeowner would NOT be happy with how it's running, straight out of the box. Also going to cross the Torch spark plug to NGK, see if that helps.

Curiosity is truly getting the best of me concerning this abomination! Lol.
The yellow tag on the oil filler is not the same as the yellow tag that has the clean air index on it. Is there a clean air index on the box and or a tag in the package you got?
One of the nice things about my Honda brush cutter/string trimmer four cycle devices is the overhead cam has a weighted piece that lifts the exhaust valve making starting real easy. The pulling part anyway. This looks like a push rod design and most likely no automatic compression release.
That clutch looks exactly like the one on my Efco 132s I got about 10 years ago. Which was labeled made in Italy.
Is there a space for air and fins between the push rod cavity and the cylinder, whether cast that way or push rods set off seperate.
1.8 horsepower at 7000 rpm is what I found in my internet searches. Why skip chain? Doesn't it say Oregon bar and chain in the Lowes web order place? Oregon does not market skip 3/8lp in this market assuming it is 3/8lp.
Do you have a timing light? Does it have any sort of advance built into the ignition?

No clue if there was a clean air index anywhere, but I wasn't looking for it either. I don't care about such things so didn't pay attention.
Don't think there's a compression release. If you're not pulling it over like you mean it, it'll kick on you, and with the small pull handle, that can hurt.
Looked like normal 3/8 low pro chain to me, nothing special. Didn't cut like anything special either.
I do have a timing light, I can see about checking for advance, although that's going to be a "when I get to it" type of thing.

I once rode a friend's RM80 (one of my first times on a bike after riding my stepbrother's ragged out Yamaha 125) and I thought I could wring it out. Jumped on, opened the throttle and it climbed right out from under me...that thing ran like a scalded dog!

I have one of the 4stroke saws from ALDI . I was running terrible. Seemed lean and i couldnt fix it by adjusting mixture screws. I had the carby apart checked fuel line and filter, adjusted valves and it still wouldn't run right. I put a new NGK spark plug in and it runs perfect. The NGK numbers are the same as the TORCH numbers

They have Aldi in Australia? You learn something new everyday. Lol. I knew a guy who's wife bought him a telescoping battery operated pole saw from Aldi and it was rather decent. I ran it a little myself, $70 or something like that...
I put an NGK plug in it yesterday. Definitely better, but still issues. Waiting on carb screwdrivers to arrive, any time now.
It's like an 80% lower chainsaw kit. A lot of the important bits are there, but it's definitely not a functional chainsaw as received.
