Use paypal with there protection program. I used them here on a purchase where the seller took my money, I got nothing. I’m more careful now.
Thank you I will get with my grandson and see if he will show me how to use PayPal if I decide to sell anything again I'm grateful for the word of wisdom I was wondering how to handle a transaction.

maybe you should have posted this in the first place , we all have to start somewhere .....is the pot calling the kettle black
I have not sold a single item on this forum...only purchased so do please go to the corner and play hide and go F yourself.

Yea I just bought a saw from a lady on a remington fb group. I was alil worried but did the send $ PayPal email thing for 1st time with buyer protection the saw coming from spokane washington. Should be here any day now. Saw was only 150$ shipped definitely not husky $ but.....

I'm not selling anything here either or trying anymore not a good selling forum at all.
I've sold parts, bars and chains, and hundreds of saws here, it's a great place to sell:cheers:. In the last 30 days I've sold 6 saws, 3 that were listed and 3 that were not, I sell more saws that I have never listed than those I list, something about relationships/trust helps a lot when selling.
Unfortunately anywhere you sell you have to deal with people .
Some of the"issue" on this site is that people are allowed to comment in the trading post section/in someone else's ad.
On may other forums that is not allowed, but on most of those forums you cannot post anything for sale until you either have approval from a moderator, make specified number of posts, or have been there a certain amount of time.
One of the things I try to live by is, be the change you want to see in others.
Good luck with the sale elsewhere, hope you stick around to post, sounds like you have some experience in tree work we could use.

Hank you I'll keep that in mind and ponder on it. I've been doing this work since high school I'm 64 years old now just finally slowed down went semi retired have a lot of chainsaws still. But I'll be honest with you I'm just surprised how crude some of the people are you would think they would want to help you some on how to list it right instead of hammering you. I appreciate all who have been professional on here but I'm done here until I can get a handle on it thanks and God Bless.

Welcome.
I'm surprised you're surprised lol.
When I first starting posting in the trading post I got slammed by a few myself, I just took it in stride and replied back with love and kindness(most times ). One of the good things is when someone enters your thread whether they are encouraging or not, they bring your post back to the top. I like to make sure I point that out to them and thank them  .
Merry Christmas.

exactly... thats providence,

@Ebarry77 , Not trying to start anything with anybody, but its a valid question for a person who is new and unknown. there are plenty of dudes on this forum that i would buy from at their word and not even ask for cylinder pics or compression checks. But its because they have been around long enough and have had enough good transactions with others that it is no longer a question of what they are offering. You being new asking for some kind fo proof of the item in regards to health, quality, etc is normal.

@r black stop shitposting, its a valid question.

I asked your location to see how close you are to me, if it was a hour or so away I would have met with you to run some saws together. Nothing better than comradery in shared passions and hobbies not to mention its icing on the cake to put the Ebenezer scrooge posts to bed, make a new friend and likely learn from another. If you have stihl carcasses send me a pm, I might be interested in a few as I am currently out of project saws and maybe we can meet in the middle of the distance between us.

Yea it's a pretty good shot from here to Wakulla. I'll check around and see about the Stihl parts I like my Huskys ain't never had but one Stihl just my preference.

Good thing you sold those 6 saws, now you can eat Christmas dinner on the kitchen table
without sharing space with a saw:)
