I like em, I have 2.
They have been super reliable (I've owned 1 over 20 years).
I bought one a couple of years ago for $10 in running condition but missing clutch cover.
Found a nice one on fleabay so I'm $35 deep in it. Lol
I have this new one and the craftsman version with the other kind of av.

We moved (500’ away) to a bigger house on more land about 2 months ago. I’ve been picking away at some projects, now that leaves are falling I started looking at some trees that need to go. Past few weeks a bobcat has been walking along the wood line coming out at my yard and heading toward the neighbors. It’s a part of daily life where we are. Black bear, deer moose. If you don’t like it then the city is where you should be. That said I have 3 youngsters who love the outdoors and my neighbors all have kids too. So I’m eliminating his hiding spots. I cut all the low brush and a few small trees. Have more to go but now he can’t sneak up at least. I used my type 3 3450, just a loyal saw. Not much for it to dig into, but got it done. Got the boy on the new app, it’s called leaf blower. Couldn’t get him to put it down!DEA550D1-A38A-4C1D-A05E-20DBA00BF01D.jpegFAA93C33-3BA6-4E40-B43B-C2D936EC7948.jpegA25C1901-3C4D-4BE1-9220-1DADEA6C5C4C.jpeg04D1BB71-2AFF-4B5F-B4EA-F5ADE67B4AC7.jpeg

So here’s one for you guys. I just picked up 2 295s. Ins doesn’t look to have had much use, use the piston is done, no compression.

The other looks like it’s never been fired, but won’t run unless I dump gas in the carb, and then only runs for a few seconds.

Thinking about taking the carb off the dead one, and putting it in the good one, but are they even worth spending time on?

There is a counter vibe about like that on the local Facebook page but he wants $200 and that seems very steep to me for a saw missing parts.
If full wrap that alone going for 75-100 for good used. 100-? for NOS

All mine sell as soon as I get them.

Where your at will bring more.

Like pulling teeth to move one here for 75 with b+c running and gone through. Last one I just use for my root cutting saw.

I still got had after talking to someone over the phone before paying. Least I did PP the right way so I got refunded later.
Just so you know. Even though they make ya feel warm and fuzzy, they can put the hammer down.

any exp w/lrb 52/5400 pistons in here?

had good look @ 5400 last nite
worth saving, imo
3 screw holes for top cover mislead me, didnt realize pins screwed into same holes
my 42 & 5200 covers fit it, pins & stud on head are missin

lookin for these & cover if theyre out there

I cant speak to the 5200 piston, but I know a guy on another forum that ordered a LRB piston for a Shindaiwa 695 & I have a NOS NIB piston on hand here so we mic'd the two.
They were VERY VERY close (almost identical) with the LRB being just a hair taller (hundredths of a inch).
