Okay maybe half a ton. Local business went into receivership and all their stuff is getting auctioned off. Here's a pallet full of bars and chains up for bid.

O'Boy. Hopefully you can get a good deal and then sell them here. Big job selling that much. What's the score of bars vs chains. Is it mostly Oregon or Carlton or an even split?
You better get in on it, sure there some good husky stuff in there for ya

Current bid is $1,000. Still has a couple of days to go. There is probably about 100? bars in there, the rest are chains. Some odd stuff like harvester bars, and quarter inch pitch chain. Oregon, carlton, windsor, real mix of chains and bars.

About $5000 worth of bars. Sounds like a deal for someone willing to put the time in to sell them or has a shop. Let us know how this finishes.

The guy at 1500 is a buddy of mine. He already had gotten a pallet of bars from when they were clearing out before the folded. Lots of goodies there!

If you bought all that stuff, you woud suddenly become a full-time seller. Is that what you want to do for the next two years?

Nah, just get an e-bay store, good part time money. Of course the government is getting greedier.
It sold fairly high. Good returns of some one had the time and space to house it all, second pallet in the mix or all bars went fairly high. I bought as many or more for 1/3 of price and still sitting on a bunch of short stuff that not many if at all are interested it. Lol I wanted the chain so could stop buying it for some time oh well win some loose some
Not really. Mounts can be altered. The steel alone to make things is worth buying lots imo.

It's not a mount issue alot of those bars in that auction were from their other stores in western Canada brought all back here and alot of the good stuff was picked through when they were closing. I landed some good gems but some other stuff at least here like stubby 20 and under 063 058 isn't much of a thing there anymore other then husky, and some of the larger guages were in 325 to make it more complicated, as well as older style saw mounts which around my neck ofnthe woods guys aren't using the older stuff near as much anymore. But the gems I landed were some cannon bars in medium stihl, some good replacement 16 and 18 inch also, some husky small and large, echo d196 also. There were some good gems on that pallet in the pictures above wish I landed all that chain for personal use. I landed some good scores from that auction though
I was thinking most smaller mounts will fit a larger slot if you cut or file them open. Odd dl chains doesn't matter if you make your own loops or have them made. A diamond cutter makes holes in anything. The bar rail disc is $20 if you have a router like bench setup. I don't myself. 063 ground rails from old 058 bars. Works out nicely for me. Keeping the really good ones for myself. The 18 and 16" 058s are good sometimes in D009 mounts. 375 chain was rather easy to find old partial reels from the 1990's listed for sale. Most people avoid it without pre-sets included, not me. Preset can be found and were. The bars were also older like the ones Mark is selling in small odd mounts mostly. Got two of those in laminated lp 14" NOS pro bars.
The steel on solid bars makes nice tools or blades.
