E961FC32-3CC5-4B47-995E-8B2982197065.jpegI pulled my bar and chain off my 261 so my buddy could cut with the mofo 026 pro this afternoon. You should’ve seen his face running it. He wanted to buy my bar and chain as his Tsumura bar won’t be in until Saturday. My setup wasn’t for sale so he left with the power head, the bar and chain went back on my mmws 261 where it belongs. My buddy has now been bit by the chainsaw bug like all of us.

It was but the 6.4 wasn't far behind. I traded mine on a gasser. I asked my Ford guy if they would fix it and resell it. Nope, going straight to the auto auction.
My buddy that used to own a diesel shop, loved powerstroke Fords...partly because the vast majority of his business was building blown up Fords.

They all have their weak links, but I like my Dodge, as the weak links are pretty minor. The Cummins will last as long as I own it, as will the manual trans. I've addressed some of the potential issues, the only real one left is better ball joints. I'll take that any day over head gasket and turbo issues in a diesel.

Today I picked up this one owner homeowner saw for $500. The guy used it for less than one year part time to clear a bunch of large Pines and a few Oaks from his 7 acre house lot. He said it had at least 30 hours on it but less than 40 hours. It started on the 3rd pull and runs sweet. The saw came with the original manual, big dogs, extra chain, 2 new files and a scabbard. As soon as I saw this I jumped on it. He wouldn't take a penny less for it. He sanded the paint off of the bar when he bought it brand new.

Helluva deal there, I know the 394 has almost reached "cult" status among owners of them.

Remember I said my son has a 6.2 diesel without turbo? The day after I said that he went to a wrecking yard and got the turbo manifold off a 6.5, and a turbo off a 7.3. He said it’s the same turbo that would have been on the 6.5, but that one was missing. Yesterday he was cleaning up the parts.

The turbo is tiny compared to the one on my loader, I remember he couldn’t get over how big the turbo on the new loader engine was when we first got it.

"Ribbons" Ribbons Farmer S! Long 2 inch, 3 inch and even 4 1/2 inch ribbons! Ribbons long enough to tie into a bou!
STIHL's throw ribbons just like huskys when cutting conifers!👍😁
Chipper does creative editing just like the fake news.
What you got :innocent:.

Thanks, now I have to wait for over 2 feet of white crap to melt to get up on my hill to play with it.
Ours is almost gone, again; but have no fear, it's supposed to snow Saturday lol.
I got more done out back tonight since it was still light, hope to at least get the other side of the red oak I dropped today, then maybe more cleanup and some more dirt work done.
I had a nice fire going and I was able to put the stump right on top once it burned down a bit, should weigh about what a green 25" round would by tomorrow, still more than I want to lift.

Those are strong power saws! Husky's answer to the 066 I believe, or vise versa. I think the 394 is a bit bigger though. I remember a couple cutters that ran them back in the day, but with full wraps of course!
Not sure about that half wrap? 🤔 Looks suspect!
😉

Nice score Jim. Sweet looking saw.(and that's coming from a Stihl guy) New 395 is around $1,500.

Just out of curiosity, approximately what would it run to replace a scored piston or a P&C on a saw like a 394 or an 066? My luck I'd find a deal like that except it would need work. Would you pass on it or would it still be a good deal at $500? Just in case I get bit by the CAD bug.
