Did the laws change on tags , I know a lot a people were doing that registrations in Maine for taxes , I thought they changed the laws, were you had to own land there , or reside there 6 months out year ? Or maybe not ?
For what, they will just sit there being Stihl.Just the Stihl's.
I was talking about the owner using the saw in a homeowner enviornment and not being used at a professional level. I know and you know the saw is a professional saw.Since when is a 394 a " Homeowner saw"?
No proof of address in Maine required. There are licensing companies that do it for you up there for a minimal fee.

Some guys do not want the auto tune saws. That is why there is still a big demand for the 395XP.And the new 395, if you could find one locally, would be made in Brazil. Should have seen the dealers face when he seen I was right about that,too bad I don't have one lol.

Sad part is the "fixes" cost more then the truck is worth. If you trash about anything in the fuel system better take a note out on your house from what I've been told, the entire system needs replaced at that point.
Run away, as far as you can get from it. Once your out of breath keep running. I'm a ford fan and they (international) really shite the bed with it.
If the cylinder only has transfer on it you can clean it up (Randy did a video) and get a Meteor Piston (which is VG quality) and repair it for cheap.
FYI, Meteor Pistons come with Caber Rings. They are usually about 1/2 the price of Stihl OEM and usually work just as well.
My friends dad was a logger and trucker. All of his personally owned vehicles were licensed in South Dakota. I think one of his older siblings lived out there and dad called that “home”. Supposedly insurance and tags were both a lot cheaper than Minnetaxus.
I looked for this truck . Didn’t want the 6.7 as I had heard nothing but bad about it . At the time most quad cabs were short beds which wouldn’t have worked for me . I got a great deal on it last one on the lot stuffed in the back . All the 6.7 s on display . I offered him 13k less than the sticker he countered with 12k . I said at 12k I want running boards he accepted .
Been a great truck replaced a few lines because of corrosion and the transmission at 130k( I cooked it ) and two water pumps . I haven’t even had a burned out bulb on the truck . I did replace the rear the pumpkin rotted but that was a Common thing for AAM axles of the time period . If the truck was a southern truck none of the corrosion would have happened.
They are being fazed out gradually

In better days, he had sent it off to Moody to be ported back when Moody was still running a legit business. He opened it up and it was already ported and had finger ports so he reassembled and said good to go.
I’ve never run another 394 but I can tell you it would absolutely destroy any of the 390s I’ve ran.

Bob is a great guy. He and I kind of had a rocky start on here but became friends after many good discussions. I miss his presence here, but I realize people get busy with life. I enjoyed his very direct, factual, and occasionally salty replies.
