caltrans had to clear a bunch of trees away from the hwy right after that.

All of the compression releases are plugged on all my saws too. Drop starts for me, unless I'm in a situation that I have to be in OSHA and/or my agency's compliance.
The longer-barred saws get the "over the log drop start," where you hang the bar over a log, pull the recoil with your left hand, and mind the throttle with your right.The OSHA-approved techniques don't work too well on a high-comp 066 with milled head, advanced timing, etc, wearing a 36" bar. IMO the drop start is probably safer on that saw, assuming you have the chain brake on. The "preferred" method that is taught to aspiring sawyers at work, is likely to dislocate your shoulder with that saw.
One of the funniest things I witnessed was when I took my hopped-up 880 into work, only 1 guy could even start it.
Another one ended up with blood blisters on his hand when the starter unexpectedly recoiled. Do a drop start though, and she fires right up.
The rakers on Limby are scientifically set by my 2-in-1 file
. With a near new chain, he started bending right, especially with the bar buried. I noticed that I had been filing poorly - trying to go too fast, I had pushed through with my right hand at the end of each stroke and had one side well over 30° and the other well under 30°. So I have given it a few more more careful filings with a bit of use in between and it has made no difference, still just as bad. The bar doesn't appear to be bent so I'm wondering about the rails like @Lee192233 suggested. Maybe my poor filing led to uneven pressure and wore the right side down more? Not that it had a lot of use after that.I had to take the Cowcat Mk2 into the vet this morning to get her fangs sharpened and it is right across the road from the chainsaw joint so I took Limby in. I'll pick it up tomorrow and find out what the story was.
The 241 has a 16in bar and 0.325 RS chain. It does well in our local hardwoods. The exception may be dry bluegum which is substantially harder when dry (12kN on the Janka scale) but I don't think I've used it on that. I've been very happy with it and I think it is the saw I have used the most in terms of time. In terms of volume of wood, Limby probably stihl has the goods and the 460 is catching up.

Anyway, I unexpectedly had time today to get back out to the Monstromint. It is starting to thin out a fair bit now and I was picking my way back through the branch material to find some bits to scrounge.

Is there an accepted limit to the number of scrounge pics that should be posted? I'm starting to worry that I am OVERLOADING the 'other stuff' thread with scrounging pics. Someone please tell me if I'm out of line.

It looks kinda ratty in the pics, unlike some of the nice clean ash and oak pics you blokes (used to) post. But it's clean burning and solid BTUs so I'm very happy with what I've been getting. Especially now I'm up to around 22.5 cubes or 6 cord from the one tree
