I had a guy asking for a early 306A so I dug this out a bit ago. Seems he was just tire kicking. Since I got it out I thought I would throw it up here as I got too many of these type saws anyway.

This is a early lighter color 306A with the Thirty-O-Six script which is shown in the Poulan 1971 25th anniversary brochures.

My tag shows I went through this saw in 2010 and its been hanging here since. I know it got whatever it needed then.

Carb rebuilt, ign gone over, new fuel lines, new muffler and probably crank seals. It has a good 21" bar and Stihl chain. Far as I know it needs nothing. It was stored dry and started in 4 pulls after it was fueled up.

It shows it has had plenty of use, paint loss etc, the recoil cover has been replaced and you can tell it was ran without a bucking spike for a long time.

She may not be the prettiest girl at the dance but she will put out like the prom date of your dreams.

To me its a $200 saw plus the ride. It may or not be a $200 saw to you but I won't take much less and will put it back on the shelf if no one thinks like I do.

Mark,

I think your price is fair. Too bad the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" wackos have faded away or selling on the bay would have got it on it's way.

They haven't faded, at least not all of them. I showed this listing to a guy I work with. Figured he would surly want it. Said nope, paint is shot. Bought a near mint looking 306 for $400.00 last week. Sad part is he doesn't even know of it runs.

Have I got this right (which I may not) He is a "Massacre" junkie but was not interested in Mark's because the paint was shot (which it is not) and bought one a near mint one. That guy seems a bit confused

Yes, that's what I said. Even paid more for a saw that he doesn't know if it runs. It's theatrical. Needs to look the part, not have half it's paint wore off from actually being used.

That sounds like one odd guy. I have no idea what the saw looks like in the internet series but it the movies I think they were black or s dran color of some sort

You would think a Massacre junkie would at least know which saw was used in the movie. It wasn't a 306.

No offense was meant, and he knows all the saws used in all the movies. It's actually kinda creepy how into something so depraved he is.
Very true. I have a story about the original movie and my mother but I do not want to derail Mark's for sale thread

I would buy it in a heart beat, lol.but the cost of shipping to the east coast of canada is crazy.
Pm me your address. I have not shipped or received a saw from Canada in a year or two. I have been using a different method of shipping lately and I am curious what it would cost now.

Its not a big saw with the bar off and I might be able to swap to a shorter bar and make the package smaller etc. I figure I can get the package under 20lbs..
