Last night I was out splitting rounds after work. Started off with the fiskers x27 and the iso core for the tougher stuff. I petered out pretty quickly and switched to the splitter. The kids are still too little to help and my wife was "busy." I'd bet I got ~1/2 cord split. Kinda looked at the pile of splits after i was done and stacking and thought I did a good job.
After reading this mornings posts, in reflection I didn't get near as much done as I used to. Rona didn't really get me, it was the heat stroke I had 5 years ago. I've never been 100% since it. Heck an 80* day about knocks the wind out of my sails. Getting older sucks lol. I hope when I'm 60 I'll still be able to heat with wood and get around like some of you older fellas.
We all wind up with things that hinder our productivity. For some it's the ticker,
For some injuries. For me it's mostly carpal tunnel, bad knees and junk lungs. I wanted moms good looks but only got the bad knees and bad lungs! Lol
We just have to do the best we can with what we have. I get feeling cocky at work because it usually takes two of the younger guys to get the other end of something we're moving. There are so many pansies out there it's unreal. Then I come home and get served humble pie when I work with my son who could handle any 4 of them pansies at once with breaking a sweat!!
I just do the best I can and try to always push to the max or a little beyond.

While me a Gunner went for a load of wood, my best buddy sends me pictures of the blood trail he’s following. He is a dandy of a shot with his bow

Nice looking ash chucks.
Pups looks to be having a nice time out :).
What yr is the new truck? Congrats BTW.
You shoulda seen the blood trail I had out back this week, that chipmunk didn't make it far... lol

Hang in there. I have never been the same after having influenza a and coronavirus back to back in the winter of 21-22. Recently, one of my doctors suggested doing a full across the board blood test to see if I’m short on something. Just did the draw on Thursday so we shall see.

Maybe you said before, I don't remember. German Shorthair? When I was a kid I hunted with a older neighbor that had one. Good dog. We had thought a covey was out in front of us, but the dog turned back and locked up behind us. We had walked right by them.

Like most of you I have had my share of issues, but always work hard to stay in shape. FYI, I'm still 6'1" and now under 185 lbs.

I'm not nearly as strong as I once was, nor do I have the endurance, but I am doing better this year than in the previous few years, so I'll take it. Never quit, never give up.

I hunted a very steep ridge the other day (by myself). It is under 500' and the bottom and over 1100' at the top, and it goes up fast. I had no problem (slowly) climbing it but coming down my back did not like it. I started limping a bit, but soon recovered. I keep pushing myself and was pleased the amount of work I did in a day milling the wood and building the hunting stands. If I pace myself, and take a break now and then, I can keep going.

Rockers were clean so I jumped on it

Love the size of the Colorado’s for up at camp. But having full grown kids, the full size does the job

Oh, and it fits more wood too 🤣

I’ve always wanted a German Shorthair

He is a Plott hound. They were bred for chasing bear. But I use his nose for deer

My pal is begging me to bring him to track this buck he shot. I have my nieces sweet 16 at 1

I told him after I’d be there if he doesn’t find the buck

So what, then tell him to come start the saw for you. I don't recommend using them, or even having them on saws, but if it's what it takes, then that's just part of the risk/cost factor involved. Or you could go buy a newer easy-start saw, they actually work quite well.
Wonder if he recommends the "D" handles .

I have the "easy start" on my 193T" That saw without it is one miserable thing to pull. Too small to really hold it steady and a very hard pull. The one on my 193 is off a 192t that had them as standard equipment.

As to the D handle? No, his opinion is same as mine - Just a bigger handle. I will try one if I have more trouble though.

I wish you would stop saying that. That is not ALWAYS the case. It's offensive and I'm done talking about that with you.
I didn't mention your name anywhere in my posts and I wasn't talking about you. I was talking about relatives and people that I know personally where I live.

It was a pretty nice day out today, so I went to the mill and built another half cord firewood box,

I still have lumber to build at least a couple more, but I'll build them later...

I had a D handle on my North Star 37 ton splitter that I used to own. It had a Honda motor on it. That motor was hard to pull over in the Winter. The huge handle made it a lot easier to hold onto.

I've been trying to work myself back up. Had a bunch of little stuff to split in the pile, I shuffled off to the side and did by hand before firing the splitter up. Just something I'm going to have to get used to doing again. Too young to be petering out from swinging a maul and axe for an hour. I'll get good again. No worries.

That's some low miles.
Most the low mile stuff I see has sat on grass and needs all the lines replaced :baba:, or they want a fortune for them.
I need the space too, with three kids and my boy being 6'+, a full sized sedan is about the smallest we go for a family ride. I've been watching for something, I actually just responded to an ad for one around the same yr as yours from out of state, two wheel drive and very solid, but it was in an accident. If I can't make it drivable without too much work, I'd have to wait, I've already got a bunch of projects :dizzy:.
Good thing you got that big truck for them big rounds.
