Those would be great in my garden, especially if I can find some bacon seeds.
I'm surprised at the difference myself, figured it would be fairly close, as I think the btu of mulberry are right there with black locust. I'm pretty sure hedge is denser than BL, not much of it around here and I've only had to cut it a couple times. There's a little grove of them not far from our house, interesting enough, I think they look a good bit like a mulberry tree.Reayll lighter than BL? I've been tossing on the fire a piece of Mulberry or Hedge now and then and I can't tell much of a difference. Maybe my Mulberry is a little fresher. Of course, It's been awhile since I had any BL.
Where's your(?) ad of that BL located? Is it free? I'm looking for free, cut and split BL (no pine). I might have to make a trip.
As for the BL ad, it's under Holland MI, about an hr from our place. Since it's not something that a mill would take ie no payday, I sure as heck ain't gonna show noone my insurance in order to get firewood. I typically get paid for removing wood and without anyone questioning whether I have insurance or not. Pretty sure I ain't topping any locust for the firewood anyway lol.
I still have an American crapton of BL that I need to clean up at the neighbors to the north, the neighbor to the south I've got a fee they want down, and I've still got a bunch here at the house that came down this summer or are leaning(none of this includes the cords of logs in piles around here). I've got a mess of BL, what a great problem to have. You're welcome to come by an grab some up here at the house

I never tried it… the mere thought of it didn’t appeal to me. That extended family of farmers have been at it for many generations. I know there were at least five separate farms in the family but only one is still actively farmed. The others shut down as my generation either went off to other jobs or shut them down as they aged out. My friends who still operate added things like a farm stand, landscaping supplies, and events to supplement the crops. Pigs are a small part of the operation.., I do miss the big parties withwhole pigs on a cooker made out of a 275 gallon oil tank. I still have no interest in their scrapple.
Do I see scrapple there?

I've been to Minnysota, you guys drive like old ladies going to bingo compared to the east coast.Bad drivers everywhere. Stop signs and red lites are just a suggestion here. Can't count the number of times I have had to slow down or move over onto the shoulder when cars passing in no passing zones are coming at me head on in my lane.

That cause you gotta use the right pedal to merge, not the left.
Just watched a woman in Toledo slam the brakes on and come to a complete stop at the bottom of a ramp where the dotted lines started, she had another 1/4 mile of lane to use to merge
. I get told I'm number one for not moving over for people merging all the time, my favorite is when theres a weave lane all the way to the next exit a mile away .If I can get a semi up to speed by the end of the ramp/weave lane, I sure as heck ain't moving over for a car!
