I'll bet they use whatever they use in the Craftsman chainsaws. Troy Built is owned by MTD. MTD is owned by Stanley Black and Decker. SBD owns Craftsman. Only chainsaws made out of that group are the TBs and Craftsman.
Could well be.

You guys ever watched the Godfather part 3?

My least favorite of the three, but there is a classic line….

Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in

Well, Yesterday I go shooting at Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays with three pals. Of course we stop at a shop on the way home. Now I already have more rifles and shotguns than I really need, but I see a 1100 that my brother in-law has been lusting for. Then I see a model 94 Commemorative, one I don’t already own.

Then today, another enabler calls and tells me of a pristine model 71 DELUXE with factory peep

Ughhhh

Like seriously UGHHH

My play cash has been covering my daughters tuition, I might have to dig into the piggy bank…..

I thought I had GAD under control, I really did!!

I got my quote back for all the metal, trim, screws etc for the shop. $4900.00 and some change.(that includes some tin for the patio roof too.) Going to pick it up Tuesday or Wednesday.
Figured the lean to will cost another $1k in lumber. My brother is getting me a quote in the steel for the door/door frame. He guessed it would be under $400.00. Just leaves some hinges, conduit, load or two of stone and time. Going to focus on the roof first, then walls. The lean to will be last on the list. I guess I'll have to stop and make some time to tear the roof off my current wood shed. The roof rafters are rough cut 2"x10"x 12' white oak. Since I have to take it down as per the township, I may as well reused the wood. I didn't factor any of that into the lean to, so it should save me a bit of money.
The wire I ordered showed up the other day. So I need to get a ditch dug and get some conduit in the ground, but I'm not worried about that till after I have the roof and sides on. Super excited right now. I have a 4 day weekend next weekend, so I hope to make some good progress.
That sounds exciting!!! Post some progress pics along the way

I've been staying out of the shops... I've been going by a "new to me" shop at least a couple times per week for about 14 months now and have not gone in. In the past my vehicle would have gone there with no input from me. Much like how I'd end up in Numrich Gun Parts retail store up until the day they closed... It was between my house and club. 😉

You forgot about the bare-azzed chaps.
@Lee192233 had this list of topics he wanted us to get back to: "Back to trucks, chainsaws, cast iron, wood, zig zagging bears, grease guns and tractors please."
That was what I covered in my post. Had he listed bare-azzed chaps I wood have included something about El Chappo.

And so it begins. I loaded the motor up and took it and my engine lift to the garage I store my Chevelle to start doing the R&R View attachment 1166047View attachment 1166048View attachment 1166049
You know you gotta take it out of the crate before you put it in, right  .
What truck is it going in again, I think I missed that.
I saw a sweet lowered dually phantom the other day. It had a good looking fake patina paint on it and was air ride and sitting pretty low(but not too low), and it was on a set of what looked to be the semi 22.5 rims/tires.
Man, I could use one of those 😆. Not really, but it sure looked good.
I saw a dodge diesel the other day that reminded me of your dual exhaust muffler mod, he had twin square pipes cut at an angle sitting side by side so they looked like two diamonds(sort of). I tried getting a picture for you, but the light changed.
I wonder if I have any pics of my ole 72 Chevelle SS clone. It was a 307 Canadian car that someone must have had a donor car to make it as close as it was. It had everything I'm aware of swapped except a few interior pieces (like the glove box door emblem) and the floor shifter, but it had the rear axle and sway bars, steering gear box(at least it was a fast ratio box), bumpers, grill, hood and trunk lids, wheels and tires(not really the tires lol). It was a barn find and I did it up quite nicely. Built 406, 400 small block with 350 rods and punched .040 over(iirc, may have been .030). The motor was built by a guy who ran the same rotating assembly build in his camaro that was running high 9s and wasn't tabbed. It was a lot of fun, but those guys with the lights on the roofs of their cars didn't like it so much, well, maybe it was my driving more than the car, that and that I was a young guy.
I'm gonna look. I've probably had nearly as many cars as I've had chainsaws :dizzy:.

It was bad, kinda like that :sucks:.

Gonna talk to the site boss on Monday about the few dozen trees yet to be pushed over. Not big trees but they are black Locust, so 😁
We had clusters of these black locusts in my parent's yard, they just popped up and grew like weeds. For sure my preferred firewood in our area

As long as it's not in an open fireplace, and the neighbors don't have to smell it, it's great stuff :blob2:.
I split about a big bucket of BL today(it's still laying on the ground), and I think 3 small buckets for the selling pile today.
Here's one.

I'm finally making a little dent in the pile, best quick progress I'll see for a while now that I'm getting into the taller portion of the pile.

Also flush cut three stumps out in front. The two trees I dropped last sunday morning, and then one that was leaning over our shared driveway into the neighbors after the wind storm.

Our BL smells just fine, burning. Are yours growing over a leach line? 🤣

Get after it chipper!

When ever I get this pantry project wrapped up I hope to get out a few saws that need run time and work on that pile of logs that were dropped off. I have an 034 that needs ran and the oiler checked out, one of the American made Craftsman that has only been bench ran to this point and a few others that have just sat too long.

Going in this truck IMG_7335.jpeglots of clones out there . Many are spectacular cars . Unless you have paperwork or it’s a Canadian 68-72 there is no way to authenticate the car . 67 and down all SS cars vin started with 138 . The 8 designated the SS package 136 - Malibu 137 I believe was a 300 post car which in reality was a much better platform for high horsepower as the door and pillar posts strengthen the body

supposedly there was some dumb law passed making used road materials a "hazardous waste" applies to anything used on the road, even cinders. Has to either go to a sanitary landfill or go back into the road. Cheaper and easier put it back in the road. We even started sweaping up cinders after winter and trucking them back to the old shop to get mixed into heavy road base. Just stupid. If anyone stopped and asked for it we'd dump it off wherever they wanted.

We used to run the 5.5hp Honda (gx190 I think it is.) engines with the integral 6 to 1 gear reduction on the little antique cars, get about 2 seasons out of them before they were worn out. Send them out for a rebuild, usually getting bored oversize. Cost 3/4 of what a new engine cost and wouldnt quite make it another 2 years. About 3 years or so they started getting some sort of cheap knock off engines. Less then half the price of the Honda, and make it the same 2 years the Honda engines did. They just trash them now and get new engines. I want to say they are lifan or something like that. They work.
The Honda 5.5hp motor I had on my SuperSplit lasted almost 40 years. It was getting a little tired. I replaced it with a used Honda 6.5hp motor.
