The weather was nice this morning and I decided to go to the shop and shoot some video of my Dolmar 7900 and Jonsered 2165.
They both had the same 18" Oregon bar and Stihl 3/8's .050 chain combo and 8 tooth sprocket.
I'm not sure why I accidentally grabbed the chain brake at the end of the Jonsered video.
I know I should have had my chaps on. The wood was Pine.

Looks like the jonsered was all over the 7900. The time was just a little faster with jonsered. both are good runners though.

In the next couple days I'm going to put the 8 pin sprocket on the MS361
with a 16" bar and see what it'll do compared with the other saws.

Hey Blood, looks like you need to adjust the sights on the Johnny! Your shootin to the left. LOL. To me, the Dolmar didn't look that fast compared to 2165? 79cc vs. 65cc ?

Have to get me one of them video things, always like watching the vids. Thanks Blood.

thanks for the video.

To me it looked like the rakers were cut a little deeper on the jonesred, looked like it tried to get away from you when you put it into the wood.

The Dolmar looked a lot smoother cutting and didn't pull into the wood like the other saw.

Just my opnion :monkey:

I made about 6 cuts with the Jonsered, then took the bar and chain and put it on the Dolmar.
I think I might have been leaning on the Jonsered more than on the Dolmar

:agree2:

The 2165, feel that torque when it digs in, effortless motor, I prefer it to the 372's, it cuts strong at mid revs, 3 more holes in the muffler, it'll rev like a 372 too

I ran the Dolmar again today and it ran about the same time even though the wood was about 2" bigger.
I'm going to muffler mod it this week and see how it picks up.

Here's my Stihl 064, 20" ES bar and RSC chain.
If I didn't already have the Dolmar I'd keep this one but no need to.
Completely stock runs nice though.
