Just bought a new Makita 7900 PHO for $731 shipped and was wondering if anyone makes any ready-made modded mufflers? I'm a little concerned about splitting the muffler and gutting/modding it, since I don't have a backup in case I screw up. And, if you haven't looked, OEM mufflers aren't cheap.

I'm looking to get an Alaskan mill for my own personal puttering. I'd like to mill whatever I can find in the yard, or the family's yard into lumber. Right now, I don't forsee anything huge but I always like to keep my options open. Right now I can't see sawing anything bigger than 16" right...

Well just don't tell this guy that. I think he might be a professional. And to think he is using that old junk 7900 surly not a top notch saw. Also it has an inboard clutch how can he handle it in such position.
