When I first got the saw running, the oiler wasn't working so I ordered one, put it in, and much to my dismay, nothing! It turned out to be a hole in the engine housing which was kinda crispy so I ordered another one. Now the oiler works but I'm having problems with the engine. I have attempted to fix the new problem twice with poor results. This time I'm going to reseal the engine and check the metering lever hight. The only thing left is timing.

Listen to the sounds, feel the response, and if needed use some type of tachometer method. Then, as always, read your plug.

When in doubt, set everything back to service manual defaults and go forward. It is always easy to overcorrect in haste and curse yourself for wasting time later!

Always sucks to tear a perfectly good, working, engine down and have problems when you get it back together. Everyone who does it gets their share.
