Picked up another 056,love em'.Starts and idles great, will cut for maybe 5-10 seconds and starts cutting out at hi speed.Carb adjusting didn't help or plug.Off the throttle for a few seconds and it's fine for another 5-10 seconds. What I thinking is the impulse hose bad,and or rebiuld carb(tilly). Will actually back fire out of carb and exhaust.Running a new 20" rollematic and a square chisel ,great fun!Any body got any other ideas?By the way how can I tell if it's a super, magnum or regular 056?We all know badges can lie.;)
Thanks Russ

Sounds like you are on the right track. Also, fish out your fuel filter , and check your carb inlet screen.

For model.. The best way to tell is to measure the bore, 52mm, 54mm (super), 56mm (mag).

The 56M2 cylinder can be ID'ed with the muffler of by looking for tiny triangular corner cuts on the lower portion of the mounting bosses. There are also casting differences in the clutch side crankcase.
