Sure. Use full skip and let the saw pull itself through the log...don't try to force it.
24s and 28s were standard lengths on the firewood crew I was on in the 80s...Husky 266s, Stihl 044s back then. Bar length was determined on a guy's height, frankly. Stand and cut rather than bending over all day.
