288xp rebuild questions

I acquired a 288xp to go along with my (2x) 2100cd, 272xp, 372xp, and my 545 mkii. I have been dabbling in porting.

My questions is does this saw respond to porting well? Is there any problems this model is known for? Any other general info or recommendations I'm interested as well. Much thanks

Don't lift the exhaust.
You have a factory hotrod.
I'm no Husky guy.
Compression gains are the way to go and lift the transfers. Chase that around until you like it.

I like to widen the exhaust, raise the uppers, and widen the lowers. Then advance the timing if I want more. My 272 seemed to love it.

Just smooth the lowers at the transition points. They have plenty of area there already. It's only 85cc not 95cc.
