hey everyone! im in kind of a pinch here... i have owned a 390xp for several years, and its about time i got the chain brake assembly fixed on it. the last thing i need is an accident... i bought it from someone who said a log fell on it and crushed it a bit by the chain brake. so i took it apart, and ordered $90 worth of parts on partstree.com and when i went to assemble the new chain brake parts, i was completely lost...

Below is a picture of the partstree diagram.. i bought pretty much everything in the picture.
After further inspection of the saw, i noticed one of the cast threaded screw holes has been damaged, and im wondering if i now need the whole magnesium body that everything attaches to. i hope not. the screw hole thats broken has an arrow on it.
I already figured out where to put the brake spring and knee joint in place...

can anyone help me find info on how to assemble this properly? im used tot he simple chain brakes in smaller saws where its attached to the clutch cover. i have a bunch of logs to chop up and wanted this taken care of first.

thanks in advance!

PS.. if you have a 372 385 they should be the same. i tried to find a youtube clip but its always the chain brakes that are on the clutch covers.

here is the parts diagram if you need it.

wow. that stinks. thanks guys. guess ill call partstree and see if i can return the parts. not really worth another $100 for the case half just for a saw i only use for large stuff. if it was my limbing saw, then maybe...

is it a pain to split the case? i mean ive replaced top ends and im fine with that...but i didnt want to open up to other issues and replacement parts...
